What are the pros and cons of sports from an economical, social and cultural view?

As we saw in my last blog, the sports have a lot of beautiful and exciting things involved, but not everything is rosy in the sports world, that´s why today i´m going to tell you about the contrasts that we can find by analyzing different categories.

  • Economic: in this category i think that one of the biggest disadvantages is that usually a person that want to practice a particular sport have to have a certain type of equipment that is expensive in most of the cases because of the quality of these ones, also they have to invest in coaches, and all the coasts of participating in a competition, so if you hadn´t have enough money, you would have to look for other strategies to be able of practicing the sport that you want, we can notice this in every single sport but there are ones such as equestrian, archery and golf that are more expensive than                                                 the average.
Fortunately, in order to give equal opportunities to those who are interested to practice a sport the governments have implemented programs to financially support many athletes
who can represent the country, such as the implementation of sports scholarships, among others, likewise there are people who sponsor youth athletes or even coaches that train without economic charge, this people had been doing these for a long time because they believe in the talent of their  athletes and in the importance of the sport.
  •  Social: One of the biggest advantages of sports in this category is that they keep people, specially young people busy, which prevent them to choose wrong paths, that´s the reason why in poor neighborhoods sports practices are implemented because boys and girls learn a lot of new things and set goals that allow them to have the incentive that they can improve their lifestyles, is common to hear cases of people that said that if they hadn´t been practice a sport they would have ruined their lives. But one disadvantage is that when athletes don´t know how to cope with defeat,  so they start having anger and rancor against their partners, rivals and coaches, which can lead them to take radical actions, such as make use of the violence, but this is not the worst, usually because of the fear of losing they start using drugs and hormones to "improve" their physical skills, but they are risking everything what they have done, just because they think that if  they hadn´t used those stuff they wouldn´t have been able of win or to be the best.
  •
  • Cultural: I think that one of the most beautiful things about the sports is that it has the ability to bring people together and of unite a whole country, inviting people to leave aside the problems since practically every single sport involve social interaction that allow them to develop good comunication skills,  also sports are a way to know and learn about different cultures around the world which allows them to generate feelings of respect towards to all people regardless of their origin, personally i think that this is very important because if they hadn´t have respect, they wouldn´t be able of have a fair  and enjoyable game.  Sadly just as people unite for sports they also separate and cause awkward and even dangerous situations, but this is a consequence of the lack of sport spirit, because everyone loves when their teams win  but they also must learn to lose, they can´t allow all the good that sports represents to be overshadowed by a few bad situations, i personally consider that is important to have a good manage of our feelings, because if we hadn´t been able of learn how to deal with our emotions the most probably is that we wouldn´t be able of enjoy and live the sports as we should.

  •    These are some of my personal opinions about sports, and always remember that you can achieve anything you want as long as you have passion, love and dedication for what you do, because no obstacle will be able to stop you.
